Historic Monument
Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal stands on the southern bank of the Yamuna River, built entirely from Makrana marble quarried 400 kilometers away. Its central dome rises 73 meters, flanked by four tapering minarets. The marble changes color through the day, from cool white at midday to deep amber at dusk.

Shah Jahan built it in 1632 as a tomb for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth. Twenty thousand artisans worked for over two decades to complete it. The walls are covered in pietra dura inlaywork, with carnelian, lapis lazuli, and jade set into intricate botanical panels. It is one of history's most deliberate acts of love, made permanent in stone.

things-to-do
Agra Fort

Agra Fort rises in deep red sandstone beside the Yamuna, massive yet finely detailed. Its gates, ramparts, courtyards, and marble rooms shift from power to quiet grace. Light moves softly across carved screens, polished floors, and long imperial corridors.

What makes it memorable is the scale of a royal city within fortress walls. Visitors love how each turn reveals a throne room, garden, balcony, or river view. It feels less like a monument and more like time still holding its breath.

Bar Oberoi Amarvilas
The bar at Oberoi Amarvilas is where Agra's finest evenings begin. Carved sandstone archways and silk seating fill the room with a composed regal warmth. Tall windows frame the illuminated Taj Mahal directly. The view and the glass arrive as one experience.
