PattayaSanctuary of Truth

The Sanctuary of Truth rises 105 meters above the Pattaya coast, built entirely from carved wood. Thousands of figures cover the exterior, depicting gods and celestial beings from Hindu and Buddhist tradition. Ocean light shifts the carvings from warm amber to deep shadow as the day progresses.
Construction began in 1981 and continues today, with craftsmen still adding new carvings by hand. No metal nails hold the structure together. Wood decays, so the temple must be perpetually renewed. It is not a finished monument but a living act of devotion.
