Land Gate

Kalelarga

Kalelarga is Zadar’s old main street, a pale limestone corridor through the historic core. Venetian facades, shopfronts, and church walls press close on both sides. The stone underfoot is polished by centuries of daily life.

Locals know it as Široka ulica, but Kalelarga is the name people actually use. It follows the old Roman street line and still carries the city’s rhythm. Walk it slowly, and Zadar feels less like a monument and more like a place that remembers you.
