Budget FriendlyThe city runs on full capacity without the suffocating summer crowds. Cherry blossoms in Stromovka and Petřín parks. Outdoor seating opens across Žižkov and Vinohrady. Rain is frequent but passes fast — carry a compact umbrella.
SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER
Budget FriendlyArguably the sharpest window: crowds thin, light turns golden over the Vltava, and the cultural season (opera, theatre, jazz festivals) opens in full. Evenings require a jacket by mid-October. Svíčková dinners taste better in this weather.
NOVEMBER - MARCH
AvoidDecember is an anomaly — Christmas markets on Václavské náměstí and Staroměstské náměstí drive a short spike in traffic and prices. January through March is the true off-season: hotel rates bottom out, queues vanish, and the baroque architecture reads best under snow or frost. Dress in serious layers.
